Donations and Gift Aid (draft)

When you give or pledge, we collect your name, email and — for pledges — your mobile number, so we can process the gift, send receipts and reminders, and keep an accurate record. The lawful basis is our legitimate interest in administering donations and our legal obligations as a charity.

Card and bank details are entered on pages provided by Stripe, our payment processor, and never reach our servers. Stripe acts as an independent controller for payment data.

If you make a Gift Aid declaration, we record your name, home address and the date and wording of the declaration, and share the details HMRC requires when we claim. Home addresses are encrypted in our database. HMRC requires us to keep declarations and donation records for six years after the end of the accounting period they relate to.

We only send news and appeals if you tick the box to receive them. You can download a copy of your data, change your details or close your account from your giving account at any time.
